Higher Pathways LLC brings professional, compassionate substance use disorder counseling to the rural communities of Deep East Texas — from the comfort of your home, on your schedule.
Jeni Bourque is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with deep roots in Southeast Texas. Her career spans every level of SUD treatment — from Peer Recovery Support Specialist and OSAR outreach counselor, to Clinical Director and Program Director of a full-service inpatient and outpatient rehab center.
She has worked in prisons, in corrections, in HIV-related chemical dependency services, and in community outreach across rural East Texas. She understands that people in Jasper, Sabine, Tyler, and San Augustine counties face the same struggles as anyone else — with far fewer resources to address them.
Today, Jeni raises chickens and goats in Southeast Texas and runs Higher Pathways LLC — bringing the same clinical expertise she built in institutional settings directly to the individuals, families, and communities who need it most, via telehealth.
"Recovery is possible for anyone — regardless of your zip code, your record, or how many times you've tried before. You deserve a counselor who meets you where you are."

Deep East Texas counties have among the highest rates of substance use disorder in the state — and among the fewest licensed providers.
Many rural clients drive 60–90 minutes one way to access SUD counseling — a barrier that leads to missed sessions and treatment dropout.
Probation departments in rural counties struggle to find approved LCDC providers to conduct court-ordered SAEs locally.
Texas telehealth law fully supports LCDC services delivered remotely — clients receive the same quality of care without leaving their community.
Higher Pathways LLC is actively pursuing credentialing with major insurance panels. We currently accept private pay and will verify your benefits at no charge. Texas law requires most fully-insured plans to cover telehealth services at the same rate as in-person care.
